Traction Control

Hey guys/girls i have a few questions about traction control. When my traction control is OFF the car seems to run alot smoother and it flows nicer on the road going 80mph.Is it true that the car flows better?Or is it just me?This might be a dumb question but does it help gas milage when its OFF?Is it really faster with it OFF?It feels alot more free and faster with the traction control OFF.

Imagination.

The TC/AH system is there to prevent tyre spinning and undesirable vehicle attitude and yaw conditions (torque managment could come into play under very hard throttle condition even top speed attempts etc but these are ll conditions under which the system is expected to intervene - not regular cruising)

Just leave the TC/AH system on unless your racing the car and then run it in competitive mode. And don't let your imagination run aqway with ya!

[DRY HUMOR] You'll need a pair of wire cutters and some electrical tape. There are two wires under the dash, one red and one blue....[/DRY HUMOR]

...on second thought, just click here:
Competitive Mode Vs. Traction Control off

Hold down the AH/TC buttom for 5 seconds and the car goes into competitive mode. TC is turned off but HA stays on. You'll see the display on the DIC. You can return the DIC display to whatever you want by first hitting the reset button. This will clear the Competitive Mode verbage from the DIC without changing out of Competitive Mode. To return to normal HA/TC simply push the buttom on the console again.

Vant, don't even joke around about AH/TC. The next thing you'll know the guy will be hacking up his car with a blow torch. He's a noob.

It's all in the owner's manual and shop manual-as well as on our site.

Oh no, you didn't cut that one did you? You know the eblue wire is Textron coated and can't be replaced.

You seem to be a fairly new Z owner. My advice is you leave TC turned on. It'll help keep you out of trouble while you get used to the car. The computer's reactions are a lot faster than yours. The car is probably a skosh faster without the TC, but you have to lean on it pretty hard for it to matter.

Under normal driving conditions, cruising on the highway for instance, TC is absolutely not supposed to be doing anything at all. If the car seems to be running better at cruise with TC disabled, it probably means there's something wrong someplace that needs fixing.

Oh holy hell you're funny Jake

But on a serious note, I agree with the guys here.....I don't race my car, but I do know that regular driving (even spirited) I would leave the TC/AH turned on.......the AH will keep your ass end from trying to pass you if you should encounter a bump on a tight turn (eg. exit or entrance ramp) and if you're like me, you take those on/off ramps REAL fast. My AH has kicked in a few times under those conditions and it helped me to keep control of the car
