Trailering

HELPPPPPPPPP!!!!!!

Can't figure out the best way to tie my Z down to a trailer. It's getting delivered (the trailer) April 29th. It's a 16 foot dovetail drop axle wood deck car hauler. Any info on where to route straps, rings anything. I would like to have a plan before I pick the trailer up, so that way if I have to mod the trailer in any way, I can order the parts. Is it OK to route 3 inch wide nylon straps around the suspension arms being as they are aluminum?

ANY help would be greatly appreciated!

I went through this myself lately and decided that the safest place to tie down the car was either using wheel nets or running slings through the wheels. This lets the suspension work and should not hurt anything.I was very nervous about tying down suspension parts for fear of causing damage.

I tried putting the wheel nets the trailer place had on the car, they will hit all the fiberglass in the area around the wheel wells. Is it OK to put straps through the rims? If it is, that will be the easiest way to do it.

If you do not have adequate Wheel Nets you should use T Hooks in the factory frame slots. Using the suspension pieces my bend them or through the alignment off

I assume the t hooks go in the frame holes above the mufflers in the back? Without jacking the car up, I haven't found the holes in the front. Do those interfere with the muffler when you tighten down the straps using the t hook holes? I really appreciate the help,

Hi there,
T hook locations are under the outside sills below the doors, in the frame rails.
You will find that this is the correct location.
It is the only place that shippers lash down the cars.
DO NOT, under any circumstances, lash to any suspension components.
Besttoyou, c4c5
