Transmission grinds going into 3rd

I am new here, but have been watching the board for a month or so. I went to the track last night in my 2001 Z06 and ran a 12.7 @ 110 mph. After that run my car started to grind every time I tried to go into 3rd gear. I was wondering what could be the cause of this problem? Is it a synchro? All advice is welcome.

yeah its more than likely the synchros i have a 04 z06 that grinds going into second the transmissions in all these cars are junk look into rockland standard gear they are suppose to be very good at fixing these mine will be going there as soon as i get time to take the junk apart.

Could be synchros &/or 3rd gear itself...Fixed under warranty. Been there, done that.The teeth in our mouths are stronger than the ones in the tranny,

Sounds like your a candidate for new steel shift fork and synchronizers.

Agreed, Synchro and do a steel shift fork while you are there. D&D or Rockland Gear are the best.
