Twin SuperChargers.......?......

has anyone heard of this on the Corvette? what would happen? pros/cons? numbers?
well Aston Martin did with the Vantage 600R a little bit ago:

I think that the twin superchargers would most likely wipe the floor with the twin Turbo, and wow what a way to go!! You know that injections is nice but I'd rather be blown!!

Sorry, but IMHO twin superchargers is just plain silly. The ATI D1SC will put out more than enough horsepower for any stock sized engine with 15+psi boost, and they have larger ones which would will out a low-compression 427 to over 20psi if needed. Can't see any benefit to twin superchargers whatsoever. Save the extra weight and space and put it towards more/better intercooling IMHO.

With twin turbos there's a benefit to them spooling faster, but that shouldn't be an issue with us blower folk.

I can't think of any point of having twin superchargers. It would just weight more.

perhaps if there are packaging issues two smaller ones might be easier to cram under the hood than one big one.

thats about it.

and no, all else being equal, turbos will always make more power than superchargers. turbos have their downsides, power is never one of them.
