I've spent hours scouring threads on someone who has upgraded the C5 steering wheel to MOMO, Sparco, or OMP, etc.
this is the closest to what I'm asking because I bought the same wheel.
Who here has changed the steering wheel and what did you get?
I bought a 350mm OMP corsica.

my race buddy has a spline type quick release and it's perfect but he doesn't know the brand as he had it installed at a shop.
this is a LTB and looks almost just like his.

I don't want a weld type, I prefer a bolt on type.
I know I will loose the Airbag.

questions:
1. Who has experience with changing/installing a quick release
2. Which brand/type did you order?
3. What wheel did you install (pics if able)
4. Steering shaft size?
I am able to install it myself I just need help with which one works well.

all advice and help will be appreciated.

I've had a Sparco 383 and a NRG quick release on my wish list for quite some time. I'll shoot you a PM of some installed pictures.

Here's a free bump for ya.

I also want to replace the stock wheel with something aftermarket and smaller. The only problem is the airbag.

So I called my insurance company to ask what happens if I lose the airbag and get into an accident.

Their response was that they "can't stop me from making any changes to the car". But if I received an injury which incurs medical expenses, and they determine that an airbag could have prevented said injury, then they "reserve the right to deny liability".

I suppose I also need to call my state DMV and find out if it's even legal to remove an airbag-equipped steering wheel. I'm wondering, will they fail my next inspection if I negate a factory-installed safety system?

Theyre always going to determine the airbag couldve saved you. Even after I install my 5pt harness.
