Urgent! My Z06's Horn Just Started Beeping??

It was just sitting locked in my garage. I ran out, opened it and stuck the key in and turned it. The horn stopped.

Any idea what's up????

When you went out to the garage did you unlock the car with the fob or the key? Did you have the key fob in your pants pocket while you were in the house? It may seem like a dumb question but this happened to me once. While the fob was in my pocket, the panic button was accidentally pushed setting off the alarm.

happened once for me...fob nowhere near me....code U1160 H recorded = loss of communication with left door control module...I would guess that could mean an intermittant LDCM "disconnect" caused the armed alarm system to think the left door was opened???

Same thing happened to me but it was a bit more embarassing. I was at the track sitting in the car, 6-point harness, helmet, gloves etc., on when I realized the key was in my drivers suit. As I tried to get the key out of my pocket I triggered the panic button.

Mine has done that 2 times. On both occasions it set a code (B2252 Key Cyllinder Switch Fault dcm-left). I am sure when you check you will find it has set a code.

Thanks guys.

I keep the key in my soft-sided brief case. I must have accidentally hit the panic button???

Thanks,

A couple months ago I took a day off of school. When we came out to the car I hit the unlock button and the car started.... When I opened the door the horn started going off. It would turn off after three minutes... That same day over a 1000 reported calls to dealerships were made b/c their keyless remotes would not work. In the paper it said that possible explanations were the test bombing a couple miles north of Vegas was causing the airwaves to mess up. Never figured it out

uh, yeah, uh, forgot, uh, me too...very likely caused by massive electromagnetic field disturbance, detected as far away as in Illinois, probably generated by secret weapon testing in Las Vegas (stealth plan by Kerry to save gasoline by randomly disabling vehicles)
