VaraRam, Granatelli, and 160 Therm. GOOD SETUP???

I have purchased the vararam and the granatelli mass air and a 160 therm recently. Are these good choices or should i have gone a different way?

I purchased vararam and granatelli to beef up my intake system but i have a few questions. Will these simple mods throw off and trouble codes or make my car run rich or lean. I dont know much about this but someone told me getting a little more air in will need for a programer(ie hypertech, predator) to get the air/fuel mix more exact. Also has anyone had any problems with water in the intake from vararam.

Has anyone had these mods and dynoed it to see the hp gains?

The 160 therm is just to run a little cooler for this coming hot summer.

please let me know everything you know

thanks

No experience with the MAF you installed but it will make corrections for your air/fuel ratios. You may trip a lean code early on, especially at WOT...just reset it and it should go away. The majority of lean codes tripped are related to a vaccuum leak somewhere before the throttle body, typically around the accordion air duct. I have never had a problem with water sucked in through the intake. I added 11 rwhp and 13 ft. lbs. of trq. with the vararam alone. Congratulations on your mods - nice choice!

Our cars really dont need a MAF the one that we have is more than enough already. I think the 01 cars have the 6.0L truck MAF. The 02's should be much better.

The VR will make you happy.

Tstat change, no problemo...

On the MAF change. Your MAF is well up to the task of metering the air. I have not seen anyone post anything positive about the Granatelli MAF. Perhaps this thread will bring them out or a vendor who handles them will pop on and give us a better idea of what to expect, but, the only posts I have seen here and on ohter forums for C5 are that the car didn't gain power with it. Some lost a little. One guy tried it on many different C5's with no luck.
