I went to my friend's shop today (http://www.carolinaautomasters.com) and had him tune my Z06. He did my NA tune and also gave me the initial tune for my Vortech right after I installed it.
With his basic mail order tune, the car laid down 502hp/422tq to the wheels. After a few hours of him tweaking, my final numbers were 544hp/465tq corrected, to the wheels. My NA numbers were 388hp/375tq, so the gains are substantial
My mods are LG LTs w/cats, Halltech TRAP lower section and the Vortech. We only saw a max of 5psi on the boost gauge we used. I'm not sure what the deal was with that.
I'll post the graphs next week. Right now I'm just enjoying the new power
Great #'s!! Humm....I have a mailorder tune and am way too rich...since my PCM is locked maybe I'll have them unlock it and go see this guy since I'm only abut 2 1/2 hours away and let him tune mine. Thanks for posting.
Wow! Thats way more than I expected, to think that with my stock LS1 and 9 psi from a Vortech only put out 445/421 tq. Thats 100 more to the wheels from the LS6 with longtubes! Incredible, makes me want one now. Id have to do it right as you did with the HRE's, minutubs, clutch, and hardened output shaft though which is why I havent made the jump yet, to much $$.
evil: did your LS1 have full bolt ons? if so then the numbers are really low... and remember the difference between a 98 TA and a Z is almost 60-70 RWHP..

At first with just the Vortech 9 psi kit and the superchips map provided it laid down 443/421 tq. After the mac mid length headers, thunder cam (500/500 220/218 112 lsa @.005) and LS1.edit it laid down 500rwhp/445rwtq.
Initial track times with Vortech only-a traction limited 13.1@112mph w/ 2.00 60 ft. Its funny as the Z was even better stock with less power, less weight-12.7@114mph w/2.00 60 ft.
After headers, cam, tuning-11.9@119mph w/ 1.8 60 ft. on Dunlop SP8000 315/35/ZR17's.
One thing with the Vortech is and Im sure the dyno sheet from WaynE can attest to is the power band is extremely steep. It looks good on paper, but all motor cars f-bodies/vette's putting down 500 rwhp were in the low 11's at almost 130 mph. I compared my dyno to NoMercy's dyno and he had 100 more rwhp at 3k,4k,5k, only the Vortech's peak power #'s were high. Typical with a centrifugal blower as the HP is exponential. And the tq. values are much lower than all motor as the parasitic loss from the crank draws substantial tq.
Actually WaynE's dyno looks pretty good, Id like to see the track results. My dyno was steeper, and had a lot of spikes up top.
I dont see many supercharged cars peforming well in a drag strip... it is mainly due to the fact that centrfigual supercharger put down high peak numbers.. from a highway roll supercharges show thier power... thats why many use them for road racing.. what do you think wayne? how will the car perform?

I don't plan to launch at a high RPM, so I'll be leaving some ET/MPH on the table. I'd like to see low 11s @ 128-130mph on drag radials. I think that the car would run well into the 10s with a set of gears and ET Streets.
The car ran 11.96@118.54 with headers/cold air, before tuning (379rwhp).
