What is the best short throw shifter?

I'm looking to buy a short throw shifter, I want to know what is the best ones out there?

I've heard of BPP, Hurst, B&M, Which one is better than the other?

I'm considering the Hurst only because of the name and because they are stock in the Camaro Z28/SS and the T/A's.

What is drivability, everyday and racing?

Somebody please help me out. Also do you use the stock shift Knob?

Thanks,
Stephen

You can find a couple of polls on the subject over in Pit Road.
Run a search.

Moving to Pit Road.

By the way I use the BPP.

If you try the shift feature and type in "shifters" you will have enough material to read for about 4 hours. Good valueable information too!

Between the Kirban and B&M, I prefer the Kirban.

I have a ripper in my 00 vert and a Hurst in my Z, they are both very similiar and work well under racing conditions.
The Hurst maybe alittle less stiff and easier for daily driving, but either made one will make a big diference to your driving experience.....

I just installed the B&M. No comparison to stock. Also used a MGW chrome shift knob, very precise short shifts.

I like the Hurst. Very short and positive shift throws plus you can tailor the lever pressure by changing the springs, 3 sets are included.

If you work in Houston I can meet you for lunch and you can drive mine with a Ripper. It's been in for 6000 miles and is smooth, positive and rattle free. Also, I specially monted a MGW shift knob to get more height and leverage on the stick. I put in the ripper for the quality not just the short throw.
