Rick,
P0106: Manifold Absolute Pressure (MAP) sensor signal not within predicted range for 2 seconds.
Inspect for:
- restrictions in the MAP sensor vacuum source
- MAP sensor seal missing or damaged
- vacuum hoses disconnected, lose, or incorrectly routed
- intake manifold leaks
- vacuum leaks at the throttle body

P0300: PCM determines that an emission type misfire present or determines that catalyst damaging misfire is present.
Potential causes are numerous, but include:
- restricted fuel filter
- running out of fuel
- excessive vibration from another source
A scan tool may be able to tell what cylinder is misfiring.

As for causes, they are numerous, shooting from the hip here based on things that have gone wrong for me, or I have changed:
- fouled plugs
- loose plugs wires
- all of the above for MAP problem
- restricted fuel filter
- stock fuel injector (I had one stick open - noted by significantly reduced gas mileage and one bank of fuel trim significantly different from the other side)
- mechanical failure inside the motor

I'd take it in and get it on a scan tool to trouble shoot.

about a year ago I had that problem..

I would suggest just making sure all spark plug wires are on good...

FOr me it was the first plug wire nearest the passenger side headlamp..

Snapped it back in place and all was good again..

Good luck.

what is an acceptable, affordable scan tool to buy?
Will my Predator do the job? I have flickering dash & signal lights. Thanks, Larry

I used to get one... dealer said it was just fine, I didn't think so... change plugs... didn't fix it... so I started thinking maybe that is the way it is supposed to sound... then I changed the wires, what diff... no missfire and it ran .4 faster.
