where's the go fast button??

I need to help my Z06 move out of it's own way.
What basic modifications will help? intake/exhaust changes??? which brands do the best job? I'm looking for some real neck-snapping power. Can anyone make a few suggestions?

Also, are there any great shops that are in the Hudson Valley area of New York???

Thanks! Mark

Basic mods that increase hp/torque would be an intake such as the Vararam, Breathless Performance Products Vortex Rammer and headers such as FLP or TPIS, etc. You might get a few ponies from a catback exhaust. B&B PRT's, and Borla Stingers are popular. PCM tuning on a dyno with a wideband O2 sensor is very useful as well to get the correct air-fuel ratios as some of these mods tend to make it run rich at WOT.

But if you want real neck snapping power you will probably need more than bolt-ons, eg: heads & cam, supercharger or turbo/s. Of course you also need headers, intake and a catback exhaust to get the most out of those mods. In addition, PCM tuning is almost a necessity.

More than that and you're looking at more cubic inches.

Oh, and welcome to the forum.

Don't get me wrong, I love my Z06. Just was expecting it to be stronger in the low to mid rpm range. The car feels as if it's holding back, like it needs some kick.
