widest front tires on C5 Z06?
I am new to the site, and a new Z06 owner as of December 2015. I bought a 2002 Z06 in electron blue with only 29k miles. The vehicle is stock (with the exception of long tube headers and cat-delete) still has the original Goodyear eagle F1's, and although they still have 30% tread or so left, they have become hard over time and grip poorly to say the least... spins through 2nd with ease and even into 3rd.
I wanted to do wheels and tires at the same time and have already bought forgestar F14's (18x9.5f, 19x11r) in piano black and am contemplating tires. After much deliberation I have decided to go with the Bridgestone Potenza RE-11's.
stock wheels tires are:
the question is whether it is possible to safely run a 285/30R18 on the front of a C5Z without rubbing issues. rear tires will be 305/30R19.
For those wondering why I can't simply use a 265, they are unavailable so my options are the smaller 255, or much wider 285.
Anyone who has run 285's up front your input would be greatly appreciated.
