Wierd clutch problem, is it normal for the design, or a problem?

Well I raced a viper today (see other post) and I reved on him w/ the clutch pushed in. I reved it up to 6k or so for fun, and her returned the favor. When I went to inch forward the clutch release poit was way up at the top of it's range. This isn't the first time this has happened. Whenever I have the clutch in and rev it up it gets very wierd to engage it just after than. After the first engagement its fine. Is it getting hot? or is the clutch not fully disengaging? There's never any burnt smell and the clutch functions just fine. Any opinions?

Hmm, the opposite of the sticky clutch problem. I haven't seen this posted before, my first suggestion would be to suck out the fluid in the clutch resevoir and replace it with DOT 4/5 with a higher boiling point (like Vavoline Synthetic). The hydraulic's are weak on these clutches, and when they get dirty, or have a little water in them, they go from bad to worse. Change this fluid weekly for a few months (a small turkey baster from WalMart will get the job done in 5 seconds, careful to not get on the paint). If that doesn't get it done and the problem continues an aftermarket may be your best choice.

Ever since I had my 01 clutch replaced with an 02 model mine does very much the same thing. Changing the fluid helps but it doesn't take long for it to go back to being a pain.

I'm just going to upgrade to an after market clutch.

Stock clutches have a self-adjust mechanism in them. High rpm centrifugal force tricks the adjustment mechanism and funny things happen. Goes away with most aftermarket clutches, Spec for sure.
