Does anyone else get that sand looking stuff in their brake lights?....I mean I wipe it or wash it out and it shows back up right away....What's up with that?

Yeah it's a pain -- I'm sure it has to do w/ the way air swirls around back there when in motion. Be careful not to scratch the way-too-soft clearcoat on the paint when cleaning; some people use an aftermarket kit to move the lights out so the lens cover is flush w/ the body.

Yep.

I'm seriously considering the flush-mount tail light mod just for this reason. At least it would eliminate four of the crap collectors.

Ahh, the dreaded "dirty butt" syndrome.
I hate it.

Thanks for the picts Looks like there is black around the light assembly. What is the shape of the weather strip that you put around the light & where did you get it?

Did you put the foam strip around the hole & the light?

That mod rates up there with the CAGS for price & practicality.
