I have an 04 Z06, and my TT set-up is nearly complete. I'd like to run the widest wheel possible on the rears without needing a mini-tub and without having the tire stick out past the fender wall.
Will an 11.5" wheel fit on the rear and (1) not require a mini-tub and (2) not stick out noticeably past the fender wall?
In terms of wheels, I'll be going with CCW's or HRE's.
Any knowledge/experience you have on this issue would be much appreciated. Also, if you have pics with this type of set-up, posting those would be great.
John's 11.5 CCW can be set up for our cars so that mini tub is NOT required. And depending on tire size will not stick out alot.
I'm not sure about the HRE's but I'd think you could get the desired offset to work it out.
There are lots of posts and pics on this topic. Try searching "11.5" in the Grandstand and Pit Road section. Go with 335/18 Nitto DR's for best traction. Tire will stick out about 1/2 inch from wheel well.

Thanks for the link - I'll check that out in a bit. Also, I tried to do the search, but, for some reason, I kept getting an error message (e.g., "This page is unable to load," etc.) when using the search feature. Figured that it was a glitch, but was too impatient to wait it out, so I created this thread.
Yup, the idea is to run the 335/18 Nittos. I've heard some guys talk about them sticking out that half-inch, and I'm undecided as to whether or not that will be aesthetically acceptable for me. So, that's why I was hoping to get some members here to post up some pics.

I was thinking if you mounted up the 305 Nitto R2, then you be just about right. You won't have the bulge of the 335, and you won't be giving very much in the way of traction.
When I finish off the BFG R1's that are on my 18" CCW road package, the 555 R2's are going on - 285/30 frt and 305/30 rrs.

MikeyB, I was able to get my search feature to work, took your advice, and realized that, yup, there's a whole lot that's been said in many different threads about this topic.
I may opt to go with a 11" wheel in the rear as opposed to the 11.5" wheel. I really don't want to tub it, and I don't want it jutting out past the fender, even if it is a little. I'm not sure if a 335 Nitto will stretch on an 11", but, if it doesn't, then I'll just back it down to the 305 Nitto. Notably, I ran a 305 Nitto very comfortably - both in terms of aesthetics and actual tire-to-road performance - on the stock 10.5 OEM wheels.
I'm running the 305 on a 11" rim, and it fits perfect. I'm not getting any roll over the edge of the rim, meaning I'm getting my full use of the tire. The traction gained is light years over stock tires for sure.
You have already gone with the TT set-up. Go all the way and tub it, it is really not a big deal. Then you can fit 12" wide with 345's
I gotta say though, I'm with Cash. You'll need traction for sure. In fact, the only thing I think can make my car better now is more rear tire.
Thanks for the compliments! Zrod, I can't wait till we're cruising together! I'm saving up for the Malibu return, hope to be there before the end of the year.
