Which would you use? BFG KDW-2 or Toyo T1-S tires? or something else.

This is my first post on this forum, I view all the time though. I need some help from you guys... I had an 01 Z06, now a 99 FRC...

Basically I'm in the market for new tires this coming week, all in 18's, in somewhat Z06 sizes, 265/295 but 18's for the front. These are going on a set of 18x9.5/18x10.5 motorsports. I really don't want F1 Super Cars as I was not impressed with them on my Z06.

I have read great things about the Toyo T1-S and they are a lil bit cheaper than the BFG. The KDW-2 is a somewhat new tire and there is not a whole lot of information about them. Very little revews on corvettes and whatnot. Both seem to be great tires, but I dont know what to do at the moment.

This car is my daily driver, rain or shine, I need to drive it.

I need some input from the forum. What do you all think?
Thanks
Steve

Gotta give it to the Toyo's. I just had them put on Z two weeks ago and have been to the track twice. Consistent 1.8 short times and they are reaaly quiet on the highway. I drive my Z daily and they are incredible in the rain. So far, I am really impressed with these tires.
Good luck

Thanks guys for all the input..... It looks as if the decision is made... I have never heard anything bad about the Toyo's.

Still have a couple days until I need to order them...

Keep the opinions coming though...
Thanks again
Steve

I have 10,000 on the Toyo T1S. As compared to the GY E F1 SC's they are slightly to moderately less grippy in the dry traction department, but ride like on rails in the wet!

I took my garbage Supercar F1's off and bought the BF Goodrich G-Force KDW's and LOVE them. A lot smoother/quieter ride and they are 10 times better in the rain than the F1's. I think they grip better on dry pavement too and I like that there is actually some deep tread on the tires when you buy them brand new.

It was between the Toyo's and KDW's, I got a good deal at Discount Tire on my KDW's so I chose them, I loved the tread design too so that helped.

If your car was a fair weather car and you wanted just grip, I would have recommended the BFG's, but since your car is a daily driver like mine, go with the Toyos. That's what I'm running now and I cannot say anything wrong with them. However, I will say that they will not be the stickiest tire available, but they are great in the wet. The tire comes with 10/32 tread dept (8/32) most other tires. This might be one of the reasons that the tire feels good in wet conditions. Plus, they look great.

Another thing I like about the T1-S is the bead around the rim which provides some degree of protection. I've got 11K on mine and they are wearing quite well. I purchased them primarily for wet weather capability and they are sooo much better than the white-knuckle SC's.

On my second set of the Toyos, and down here in FLA in the summer months when you get hit with flash rain storms that dump a lot of water very quickly, the stability of the Toyos is like nothing else.
