The Z is dead for now

I went out to start the Z Saturday and it's dead. As I'm sitting in the car I smell burning wire so instead of jumping the car I just had it towed. Have not heard from the dealership yet but as soon as I do I will pass on the problem in case this happens to anyone else.

I picked the Z up last night, they told me it had a bad battery. I've had this car just barely a year, that's the first time I've had a battery go out that quickly. Had them also check the tranny while it was there and they said it was fine. No more Dodge Durango, yea!!!!!!!

I switched out the stock battery for a yellow top Optima.

This one didn't cost me a dime so I guess I'll stick with it until it goes out.

I also have an 02... no issues so far but when I do I may get this one also. Yellow top? How expensive if you don't mind me asking? Thanks for any help. Randy

I've had batterys go bad before but never had an associated smell. Is this something peculiar to the Z06 or what?
Just curious.
