****ZO6 noise/clatter????

I have a new(100 miles) 2003 ZO6.It runs great and I am careful concerning break-in.I am hearing alot of "clatter" coming from the engine area.It sounds like lifter noise. Is this normal?

Very normal. Do a quick search on this topic to see if those who asked the same question sound like they have the same problem as you.

Yes, as z06Nut said, did the dealer fill the tank? Sometimes they (probably most) fill the tank with 87 octane and you may hear some engine ping on hot days when lugging the engine at low rpms. Mine did this and I think it is even more noticeable because we are trying to do a easy gradual break in. Once filled with some 93 octane the ping under load went away. As z06Nut said though, these engines do make some noise. You will learn to love it as break in nears a close and rpms go up.

There are both normal and abnormal valve train noises, and the injectors also make similar sounds. Observe and try to isolate the source or sources.

This is one TSB on an abnormal sound:
