Re: 2009 Z06 Fest Drag Racing

Awesome!!! Way to go VORECH and JIM. Thats just amazing. I wish I were there to smack GR8 WHITE around like I did at WINTERFEST (hotlapping like 14 times until my clutch would not disengage) Hahahahahahahaa
Cool beans! Now I am going to watch the video!

ps...Dont anyone be breaking shit! Hahahahahaha

Teds look at Winterfest was priceless when they rolled him back off the line after his first tire scrub. Like Santa Claus had taken his firt bike away. Snapped his output shaft I believe.... So, take it easy out there.

Re: 2009 Z06 Fest Drag Racing

i made four passes friday. Keep in mind that this was my first time at the strip in my z06 (think that is me in the qs c5z on page one). I ran on nitto nto5 street tires. I could not get my lauch down at all. Keep blowing my tires away in 1st and 2nd on every pass. My best launch came with a 3000rpm clutch slip (hooked great but i went WOT way to fast and spun my tires through 1st and 2nd lol). Here was my best pass of the four

sixty foot 2.152
330' 5.625
1/8 8.394
mph 90.42
1000 10.733
1/4 12.712
mph 112.54

i need a lot of practice on launch, drag radials, etc lol.

Over all it was a good time and i meet some nice guys at the hotel. Esp the four guys that moved their party chairs so i could park at the hotel at 1am when i got there. Thanks guys. I wish i knew the temp and DA at the time of this pass (says 1109 am on the slip).

If you still ran a 12.7 in 3000 DA and close to 90 degrees on that lousy sixty foot time...you have a fast car. Next year I will loan you tires ! Jim said the track was only prepped to about 100 feet ?

Good run man !!

Hey Ron! You won the race with your remarkable R/T! Good to see your post. I still have your card. Tell the wife hello for me. Post your #s Ron. This was a blast! I can't remember when I had such a good time! We are soooo close together! And I am standing in the stands hoping you will be faster each time. As well as cheering for each member that races. What a blast. No pressure!

Congrats to vortech and Jimbo for best E/T and T/S. Congrats to everybody that raced because you are all winners!!! We obviously need the support in this event. Thanks for the stickers Jimbo!

Thanks to everyone as well as the sponsors - ARH, AIRAID for making this happen. Thanks to the spectators that came as well as everyone that made contributions. You know who you are!

****Hey Guys!!!! I would like to see more #s on stock C6Z w/street tires or C6Z w/CAI only & street tires from this year's Fest. Just people in progress - Having Fun!****

Re: 2009 Z06 Fest Drag Racing

The drag racing was awesome-no pressure, just lots of fun! Everyone was cheering everyone on-it was great! This is the way I like it!

Big props to all those involved in organizing this event!

Mark-thanks for giving Shane and I a fresh lane to make few passes before it got slick-it was very much appreciated.

Hopefully the turnout will be even larger next year-nothing better than a track swarmed with Z06's!!!!!!!!

Re: 2009 Z06 Fest Drag Racing

Thanks to everyone from setting up the event and to all of the friendly people we met. My wife (Barb) and I want to say "thanks"!! We had a great time!

The drag's were great!! Made 10 passes on Friday. Tires-Nitto 555R2, 305/35/18, Tires pres 22 PSI, Lingenfelter S/C, 484 rwhp

Best 60 ft - 1.842
1/8 - 7.548
mph - 96.46
1/4 - 11.698
mph - 122.10

Again, Barb and I had alot of fun even though we locked the keys (both set's) in the car while it was running.... on Saturday. We got it unlocked thanks to Jean Fickle (autocross worker) and a person from the NCM while at the autocross. I was able to run the autocross (first time) and Barb rode along. More Great Fun!!

Again, thanks again to the group and we will be back next year.

thanks pitt!

shopping for some drag radials right now lol. I would really like to get the tires and hit the track again with some good weather. I must say the low trap speed worried me.
