Break in

Looks like someone tried to break in to my C5Z while it was on the trailer the last night of the Fest.

Fortunately, the C5 has some kind of actuator in the door so that if you try and use one of those metal sleeves to unlock it from the outside, the actuator breaks and the door won't open....even with the key.

Chris (MCRacing) had to go in through the trunk to start the car and get it off the trailer when we got home.

Sometimes people just pizz me off....

Mike

Sorry to hear someone molested your Z. Some people have no respect for others.

Re: Break in

So sorry Mike:

I have unfortunately learned that it does not take a cool Z06 to attract scum. If you have ANYTHING - then there is someone who will try to take it or destroy it, given the opportunity.

I hope the damage to your car is minor and easily repaired.

Re: Break in

Sorry to hear that Mike. People have no respect for other people's property. Makes you think about a trip to Radio Shack. They sell a battery powered motion detector that will set off an alarm in your room. No outside light to tip off the thief. Mount it on your truck and focus it on the Z. I have had one on my boat for a couple of years...

Re: Break in

Very sorry to hear, at least they didn't get into the car. What goes around comes around, they will soon get theirs.

I truly enjoyed watching your racing skills at the fest, I would hate to hear of anything happening to that car.

That sux ... mebbe, considering this and the incident with Mike's and Case's cars two years ago ... we need to look into some local security next year ...

Re: Break in

That sucks Mike.

I wonder if we should start thinking about a security guard in the future. It's not the first time it happened.

Re: Break in

Probably because it sits up on a trailer, it attracts more attention. You need to just drive it down next year instead of towing it. Oh, and use some shoe polish to cover up that big "Hoosier" on the sidewalls - it will blend in better.

Re: Break in

Mike, sorry to hear about your car. Hope that doesn't discourage you from coming to the fest next year!! I would be willing to pitch in a few bucks towards a rent-a-cop for 2008.
