- Barber Motorsports Park is not an option, PCA has the track booked Tuesday September 9-Friday, September 12. Even if it were available the cost to rent this facitlity for the day approaches $15K with corner workers, emergency crew, flatbeds, etc.
- The NCM is not an option, they simply are stretched too thin with a couple of other major events in September this year, thus they cannot run an HPDE for us.
- Phil Wicks IS an option, he is willing to run an HPDE at either Taladega Grand Prix or Nashville Superspeedway. Downside here is that the cost is going to be $300 per head for the day.
So, it begs the question, are we willing to pay $330 each for a day at either Taladega Grand Prix, or Nashville SS?
Please answer the poll question above.
If we do not get at least 40 YES responses, then I will tell Phil that it is not going to happen.
If you answer yes, please post in the thread so I can keep track of those that say yes, that way I can hunt you down when its time to pay up, and I will hunt you down if we go that route.
If we do not do an HPDE event this year, I am looking at a couple of other ideas that might be some fun on Wednesday, so stay tuned...
can someone explain exactly what an hpde is? or direct me to where i can read about it?
High Performance Driving Event/ drivers' education....you are taking your car out on a road course with an instructor and taught driving techniques. Very basic definition here.

I am in need of more logisitic info about the timing of this since I am coming from Central Florida and already have confirmed reservations close to bowling Green for the Z06 Fest. My stay In the Bowling Green area begins on the 10th, departing on morning of 14th. If this event takes place on the 9th, then I see no reason why I cannot commit to this. I would just need to find out where this is and make the necessary accomodations for the night of the 9th. What would the event times be? Also, are there other things that my wife could do besides just watch from the grandstands while I'm driving? I want to drive, not just look at other people's rides !!!!!!
Mark ... not sure it'll make a difference, but I did vote "Yes"
And I'm game for any alternative activity on the 10th ... as long as it doesn't involve hockey sticks!
