Let's try to capture some of the lessons so we can improve the next event in October. Bring it on...

Yes - I would like to have more flexibility in choosing events other than "pre registration required"

I would like to see after hours events communicated. I missed stuff because I was not staying in the Baymont Hotel.

that would be a museum issue..

in the past.. people would want to show up and do the autox.. and NO was the answer..
sometimes it has to do with insurance.. etc..

this year.. i just signed up for everything.. wasted some money.. but
i didn't get left out of what i wanted to do..

maybe they could do a GOLD pkg.. registration. ?

blanket coverage.. ?
lots of the events overlap.. autox..with a road rally .. i missed the rally.. but.. if it rained.. i would have done the other..

this thread is a good idea..
the museum reads the forum

I would like to see more classes in the drag racing event. Not just power-adder vs NA. Stock internal, cam only, H/C, and so on. I ran the fastest stock internal to my knowledge and got no recognition.

As far as events at the Baymont, I think if you review the 100's of posts prior to the fest regarding "under the arches" I think you find that the main hotel is the place to be.

Would you be willing to coordinate this for next years fest?

The majority of our members don't go to the fest to complete, pure fun, thats it.

That's all well and good, but some of us get a free hotel rooms using points like I did. I stayed at the Marriott down the road.

My point here is for new folks like myself, I did not even know I had to go to the Baymont. I did know many were staying there. I did not know there were give aways, nightly drinking opportunities, and raffles.

That's what was said at the track. All fun. Then at the banquete, Mark announced the winners for PA and NA classes. It took me by surprise that there were awards for drag racing. A cam'd, tuned/modified C6Z won the NA class and Mike won the PA class. All good.

I'm just suggesting that it might make for a little more fun to have it broken out by class a little more.

And yes, I would volunteer to head up that part next year.

Okay, I missed those. I'n not pointing fingers, just trying to see if there are better ways to get the message out. I had a blast! Over communication is a good thing.

Sorry you didn't know.

I tried to get some of the unofficial event scheduling listed...

Mods--Forum Fest schedule of events?

You just gotta mingle and make friends--then twist their arms to find out what's happening! Most people have no idea that's going on outside of NCM events, so just brainstorm and see if anybody has ideas of what to do--like where does everyone wanna go and eat...

There were many a times where I'd come out of my Baymont room and find the lot empty--I'd jump into my trusty rental Z0-Malibu Maxx-6 and run over to the NCM. You'd usually find somebody there, if it was before closing. Just remember that whichever hotel is the "official" Fest hotel is probably the gathering place--as they've probably been forewarned about the carousing!
