I believe I was very clear if you read my posts in this thread. Just in case here's a few Sentences from it;
"was in BG 2 weeks ago and stayed at Baymont for like the 5 or 6th time in the last few years.
We found roaches and bugs not only in our room, but 2 others that were offered to us. The bathroom had urine stains on the bathroom floor too.
We went next door to the Hampton, a few bucks more , but the place is bug free and not seedy like the Baymont."

Hey Guys, don't kill the messenger, Just a friendly heads-up 2 CHECK your room to make sure it's to ur LIKING or you'll probably :p uke:
I get itchy just thinking about that dump. I just retired from the Navy and have done my share of travel. I've stayed at 5 star hotels that looked very modern and clean and had bug issues and odor problems. No category of hotel/motel is immune to these type of NASTY conditions. I took my girlfriend on Royal Caibbean Flagship Ocean-liner last November. We had a JR Suite. The cruise cost me close to $9K and BINGO, bugs behind the headboard. I HATE BUGS, so yes I know where to look. Ewwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww!!
Joe, it only takes a few lazy employees and/or lazy managers not enforcing std cleanliness policy by often checking of the rooms by managment personel. It doesn't take long before the bugs move in and non-enforcement of smoking policy.
I'd rather spend a few extra pennies at the Hampton for peace of mind.

btw, I lose my appetite just thinking of that sleaze & flea-bag hell hole of a dump.
I'm sleeping in the Zee this year! Nice view of the night sky under the hatch!
That's a great idea!!! Only I'm stuck with the truck but that might be a good thing!!! I'm throwing a mattress in the back...........hmmmmmm, have to figure out something for showers. Definately improvise something fairly easily though......
Justin,
We weren't trying to badger you......it's just the first time in my 6 years of staying there that I've ever heard any major issues.....other than a slight mistake on my bill the 1st year but they resolved that very quickly.
I will certainly do a walk-thru of the room when I get there.
Hey, for what it's worth. I was there a few years ago and I would think twice about staying at the Hampton Inn. You couldn't even get in the front door for all the drunks that were drinking and carrying on. They were actually taking thier cars apart at the front entrance! Loud music, tools all over the place, cars in various states of repair, spinning tires, kegs of beers, trash cans overflowing with empties. Middle aged, half dressed perverted men in lawn chairs, smoking cigars, drinking and carrying on, coming and going at all hours of the night! Police cars roaming around the parking lot occassionally chasing one off the road and into the lot.
Justin may have gotten a bad room, but I've never had any problems with the Baymont over the last several years and I don't expect to have any this year.
I wouldn't worry much about the Baymont accommodations!
I agree , Mike. It could very well have been a off day or 2 for the facility. Like I mentioned, I had stayed at the same Baymont several times over the years and it was fine. If some of you are sensitive to smoke and household chem odors you may want to bring a package of sterile medical/surgeon masks. They sell then at CVS and Walgreens. They on cost a few bucks for a pack of 5 or 6. Having served on several Navy ships & living in close quarters, I have become very sensitive to smell and freak about roaches and Bed Bugs.
