Mike, best as I know it's still Sept 11-13, 2008.

BTW, anyone can check the NCM events by going to National Corvette Museum and click on events.

Re: Z Fest final Dates ??

The September dates are locked and loaded.

I better not hear too much about this since September was the runaway winer by a 5-1 margin when we did the poll on when we should have the Fest going forward.

Re: Z Fest final Dates ??

You'll hear it from me Mark.

I voiced my opinoin many times. It makes it so much harder for those with children and even for many without children to attend during a non summer month. Vacations wind down, activites for children pick up. Adult activites also start back up. It's hard for one to argue against that. Yea, if it was held during the summer, there would be "specific dates" that would be bad for some folks due to other commitments. I'm talking about a "general" time of the year. Summer vs Fall/spring. But one can at least try to catch the most fish and offer it at a time when we have the greatest chance of a great turn out. I'm only using "children as an example" We all know that there is not a huge number of kids that attend anyway. I'd be willing to bet that most of the folks that were regulars and maybe even some possible 1st timers did not attend due to children at home and in school. Had nothing to do with actually bringing them to the Fest.

I seem to recall one of the primary reasons folks wanted it when it was cooler outside was for the reason of heat in the motor while racing. That being the fact, there should be 50 +cars drag racing and the DE should sell out right away. However, If history repeats itself, its still pretty warm in September.

The bottom line is having it during "School months" will keep many folks away, regardless if they actually bring their children or even have children (I think that was proven this past year 2007) but I'd be willing to bet that if the Fest was held during summer months again the folks that voted for a Fall Fest as a "preference" would still participate. The tally was for preference poll only as I recall, there were not options to vote "I would not go if it was in the summer" or I will only go if it is in September"

When we are givin a choice we should choose one to accomodate the greatest number of participants, I think that is the goal, is it not? Not one that pleases a few "preferences". I think our goal should be to offer every possible opportunity to increase participation for all potential attendees. I think the NCM would favor that too seeing how it directly impacts revenue.

Remember this was only a "preference" poll not a "practicle" poll.
Heck preference wise I'd like to attend when its cooler out too, but that is not always practicle to attract the greatest number of participants.

Joe
