Active Handling is slow to warm up

My car most always indicates active handling warming up, when I first start it up and begin to drive. In the past it has usually warmed up and the message goes away by the time I get down my driveway, which is about 1/4 mile.

The last few times I have driven the car, the "active handling warming up" message has lasted for up to 20 miles. Me thinks thats a sign that something is going bad?

Has anyone else had this problem, or know what would cause this to happen?

Appreciate your response.

Mine does it occassionally but only for aq few seconds. Only time it did it longer, the battery was going out.

Re: Active Handling is slow to warm up

Mine was doing that for about a month and it crashed yesterday. Now I have a complete failure of ABS and Traction Control. I have no idea if there is any realation to the warming up notice I was getting. My previous Z never once gave me a warming up notice.

Do you back down the driveway? My 03 used to do it occassionally after backing up out of a parking spot. Never if I pulled out of a parking spot straight away. I never figured it out or had any problems. DIC would go out by the time I got out of the parking garage and hit the street.

Re: Active Handling is slow to warm up

The normal warning seems to be related to how you drive the car after startup. I've had it happen a few times pulling out of the parking lot at work, something to do with light throttle and low speed I think. It happens only rarely, and it always goes away in a few seconds. I'd guess you're on your way to an EBCM failure. But I couldn't find anything in the service manual about "active handling warming up" so it's just a guess. Do you have any DTCs?

Re: Active Handling is slow to warm up

I always thought it had something to do with being cold. I've never seen it in the summer time. We the message comes on it only lasts about 10-20 seconds for me.

My "Active Handling Warming Up" has came on in the swelltering hot summer this year in Georgia. Thinking back it has only did it when backing out of my driveway when I'm pushed for time and haven't allowed the car to warm up. It only stays on for a few seconds and then it will go off.

Re: Active Handling is slow to warm up

Well I guess that blows my theory about only happening when cold out!
