Display unit

Hi,
Does anyone have problems with the computer display intermittantly giving false readings?
My oil is OK and recently changed, but I'm getting a low oil level alert. I also recently had a traction alert that went away when I started the car. It is a 2001 with low miles.
Thanks.

Re: Display unit

Intermittent alerts are not uncommon, and they can usually be ignored if they aren't unreasonably obtrusive. But they can be a sign of a real problem.

There is an oil-level sensor that tells the PCM how much oil there is in the crankcase just before you start the engine. That sensor could be failing, or the connection to it could be dirty/corroded.

There are many possible sources for a TC fault; wheel sensors, connectors, EBCM. The DIC will give you a specific code and that might help narrow your troubleshooting focus. You should put the DIC in diagnostic mode and read out the codes. Search the forum for instructions if you don't know how to do this. "DIC diagnostic" will probably work as a search term.
