Electrical Problems?

So I took the Z06 to the grocery store and I noticed the passenger window wouldn't come back up. Clearly the window motor went out.

Anyway, on the drive back home the service active handling and traction control screen appeared. Wonderful. Now for the best part - shortly after that my radio went out, the service engine soon light kicked on along with "reduced power", the fuel gauge went to 0, and the drivers side window wouldn't kick on. I scrolled through the display and nothing came up under MPG.

Right as I'm pulling in my driveway the radio kicks back on along with the fuel gauge. Driver window works now but passenger is still not functioning.

What is going on here?

Re: Electrical Problems?

I know this sounds strange but how old is your battery. These cars are known to do strange electrical things just before the battery checks out. My 02Z threw similar codes to yours just before this happened.

I'm not really sure. I just bought the car two weeks ago. I owned a 99' Coupe and had A/H and T/C codes flash whenever I drove in the rain. I didn't think I would run into the same problem.

I'll take a look though. Car has 23K miles on it.

Re: Electrical Problems?

Also wanted to say when I attempted to close the passenger window again the button lights kicked off - if that has to do with anything.

Re: Electrical Problems?

Have the battery tested like Norm said. Also look at your battery cables and connections (Grounds).

Re: Electrical Problems?

Thanks guys. I'll have to do that this weekend. I noticed to the buttons on the passenger door don't work - not even the lock/unlock one.

Re: Electrical Problems?

I still have the same problem occasionally on my passenger side door going out. Try this: Open the door all the way. The plastic accordian connection to it has a bundle of wires. Move it around some. This has worked for me every time. This is if the windows AND the door locks don't work on the door for you. Apparently the connection get's "pinched" in there, and messing with this area relieves the issue.

And yes, replace the battery. Throw in the Optima Red Top. It's expensive, but it will cure 99% of your code throwing. The rest has to do with the 13 ground points on the car. Cleaning those will fix the rest.
