I've heard of batteries going unexpectedly but this problem is different. My 02 battery is good and never had any problems.
I took my son to his soccer game last night and after the game the Z wouldn’t start. There was no power, no lights, no clicking, nothing. It was like someone removed the battery. I got a boost and it started right away but the headlights wouldn’t come on. I installed the Specter Werkes HID lights back in 02 without any problems. The high beams would work but the low beams wouldn’t. As I was driving home I saw the low beams flicker on twice. When I got home the low beams came on. I turned off the car and tried to restart it. It was completely dead like before. I checked the battery connection for a loose ground and everything is tight. I checked the headlight wiring and everything is good.
I just reconnected my battery and hear this ticking sound below the battery. Kinda sounds like a turn signal. The instrument panel is dead, no lights....
Well all you guys are right! My buddy came over and did an electrical test on the battery. It read 12.34 volts out of the car but 7.78 volts installed. I bought a new battery and she fired up immediately.
Prior to the battery dying I had ABS, TCS and Active Handling codes which I cleared from time to time but now I can't clear. I have all the symptoms that my shop manual states. So I guess I need a scan tool to clear these codes
The codes with the "C" in them can't be cleared because they're "active", the problem is still happening. A scan tool won't help you, there's something really wrong with your TCS.
I think the C1214 error is symptomatic of a known issue with the EBCM. Search the forum for 1214 and EBCM and I'm sure you'll get plenty of hits.

That doesn't sound good. I think it's time I call up my dealer and have them look at this. Last time I took it to the dealer for column lock, they reflashed my PCM and I lost my custom tune. Thanks for the info
