Intermittent Reduced Engine Power, WTF?

About 2 weeks ago I left my visor mirror lights on overnight and it drained my battery and wouldn't start the next day. Jumped the car and everything has been fine. Last week the service column lock message came up and it does so every time I start the car but I just re-set it and no problems so far but that does scare me a little from all I've read about it. Well in the past week the Reduced Engine Power message has come up 3 times and the coolant temp gauge goes all the way to the red. I shut the car off immediately and just for the hell of it fired it back up and the temp. gauge went back to 190 or so and the message was gone. There is no way the car cooled from 260 degrees plus down to 190 in 10 seconds so I'm thinking that I have a bad sensor or the battery needs to be replaced. Anybody else seen this? Did a search and none of the symptoms of other's matches what I'm getting. It did it once a week ago and 2 times this morning within a 5 minute period while the engine was warm and had been running for at least 20 minutes.

Re: Intermittent Reduced Engine Power, WTF?

I would first have your battery load tested and then go from there.
What codes if any are you getting?
