Keep Blowing #6 Fuse Under Passenger Foot Panel

I'd appreciate any help on an electrical problem I'm having. My number 6 fuse which is located under the passenger foot rest keeps blowing out. It controls the flip up lights, night illumination on the dash, and rear tail lamps (thats all I'm aware of) I keep replacing the fuse and everything works until I go to drive. As in I can sit and flip the lights up and down, press the brake pedal and it wont blow...but the minute I take it around the block it blows ERGHHHHH

Any idea on what grounds to check or wires? Thanks for any help

BTW - no mods, only thing that might be related is I had the front bumper replaced because it was in a minor accident (slow speed no real damage)

Re: Keep Blowing #6 Fuse Under Passenger Foot Panel

At a guess, I'd say that it works fine sitting in the driveway because you're not moving. You have an exposed connection someplace and it takes some mechanical "excitation" (the car needs to be moving) to get it to short out. You might try the same "in the driveway" experiment but also manually bounce the car up/down to see if you can cause the problem (jack it up a couple of inches, maybe, and then let the jack down fast).

Barring that, since you had the front bumper replaced this is the first place to go looking for an issue. There is some wiring up front for the headlamps, and of course the turn signal assemblies are *in* the bumper... Do a similar experiment as above. Sit in the driveway with the lights on and reach in to the bumper area and start wiggling cables to see if you can replicate the problem...

Ok found the problem and just wanted to post in case anyone runs into similar trouble in the future. It looks like it was the dimmer switch that was causing the fuse to blow. I was starting to panic but seems this is a common problems in C5's
