LS Edit results . . .

I finally jumped on the great deal 21st Century Muscle Cars is offering ($399 with free lifetime changes), and had my 2002 Z06 programmed. Mods are in my sig (link), but basically I have LT headers, x-pipe, Blackwing & Borla's. I expected about 8-10 gain max. What I got was 16.2 rwhp and 13.9 rwtq, and a nice smooth A/F ratio around 12.8. Correction factor was 0.96, and temps were in the 30's. The first edit gained us a bit more, but we were at 13.1 A/F, and the guys wanted it under 13. I wanted to go lean, because I knew this is about as cold as it gets in Texas, so I'd be safe, and still make some HP this summer. We adjusted the timing to get us back close to the original HP/TQ numbers we made at 13.1, but at 12.6-12.8 instead. He thought it was odd that from the factory, my timing was around 21. We also figured we lost 2-3 due to the oil change (Mobil 1 15-w50, recommended by John Lingenfelter) between the 1st & 2nd edit. What's even better, is the deal includes a case of Royal Purple motor oil for free (I talked them into the Mobil 1).

In addition, I just can't say enough about the professional and knowledgeable staff at 21st CMC. They definitely carry the excellence one would expect from an LPE authorized shop. This place is strict, by the rules, no exceptions. They only do what's been proven, and then has been signed off by John Lingenfelter himself. I've had to learn the hard way, that sometimes it pays to pay more, and you may actually find yourself getting more than you paid for. If you haven't checked these guys out, you should. I'm going to talk to John about getting hooked up over here.

**Update** BTW, forgot to mention, I went back a week later, and added a ported throttle body (and tuned for it of course with my free updates ), and gained another 5 HP and 1 TQ. Not impressive gains, but the dyno graph is now as smooth as a baby's azz, and the car drives and pulls soooooo smooth. Definately worth the $150 they charge for the TB.

JW, Was it a P&P TB that they did in house at your dyno tuners? I am thinking about a Shaner myself. By the way, very nice numbers!

Not sure. I think it's just a polished stock TB.

John did my Chromies, tires, erada-speed rotors and shortened my shifter as I waited. I got a great deal ( They were slightly used.)

I agree 21st Century is a great shop. I refer them to all. John is a good guy.

Dennis, if you are out there.... thanks for referring me to them.
You helped me out a lot.
