P0140 code after FLP header install

I had the dealer install FLP headers a few years ago. Soon after this the P0140 code for the O2 sensor showed up. I am pretty sure they used the orignal O2 sensors at that time. They were unable to correct this problem and I have lived with it since. I understand that 02 simulators may correct this problem. I found a source at Fast Toys Perfomance Parts for O2 Simulators/Testors. They website indicates I would need 2 sensors at $65.00 each. I want to know before I spend the money if you think this would solve the problem. I don't want to buy a Diablo or LS1 edit. I just want the pesky check engine light to turn off.

Thanks,
Jerry

Your best bet is to tune the rear 02 sensors out via tuning software. The Diablo Predator should be able to remove the code as well. Another option is to have the car tuned professionally and the tuner can clear the codes and improve performance, money well spent.

My suggestion is that you call a local tuner and ask him how much to turn off your REAR 02 sensors. It'd probably be cheaper than buying the sims too!

Good Luck!

Re: P0140 code after FLP header install

Here's the update. I bought mechanical 02 simulators which basically extend the 02 sensor out of the stream of the exhaust. When the code did not go away after installing them I contacted the person who sold them to me from ebay.
He said it sounded like the O2 sensor was bad. I changed the O2 sensor on the driver side and that fixed the problem.
