P0160HC Code

Heated Oxygen Sensor Bank 2 Sensor 2-B

This is the code I have seen popping up.

I am replacing the stock manifolds with long tubes and high flow cats. I should replace this sensor while I am at it.

Which one is it?

Pre Cat or downstream of Cat?
Passenger or Drivers side?

Thanks!

Re: P0160HC Code

Bank 1 are the sensors on the left side pipe (driver's side). Bank 2 are the sensors on the right side pipe. Note the cable routing is opposite, the cable for the left hand pipe is routed down the right hand side... Sensor 1s are ahead of the Cats, sensor 2s are after the Cat.

Yes, you should probably replace the sensor. You should consider replacing both sides... For parts the come in pairs, failure of one is often a precursor to failure of another.

Re: P0160HC Code

Thanks for that.

I learned that code relates to the sensors UPSTREAM of the cats. Apparently pre cat sensors are heated, post cat are not. I'm not really sure what that means, but that is what I was told at the parts store. ?
