P0343 after Cat meltdown
Installed some gauges and forgot to reconnect the left bank ignition coils. Hard to start and ran rough but thought the PCM was relearning or something. Took a little test drive but still rough (I'm here to tell you it'll do 100 mph on four cylinders, with a Maggie pushing it.) Tunnel felt hot when I got home, so I looked under the car. Yikes! the right high-flow cat was red hot. I know, Dumb and Dumber ....
Found the unplugged connector, then it ran fine. Had to replace both cats, heat gutted them. Problem is it's thrown P0343, Camshaft Position Sensor - High Voltage, ever since. Takes an average of 3 tries to start it, apparently because it's getting the timing from the Crankshaft Position Sensor now and there's a 50-50 chance on any given crank cycle it'll "guess" the timing at 180 deg. off. Once it starts it runs great.
Replaced the camshaft position sensor - no change. I didn't think to check the wiring harness connecting to the sensor when I had the blower off. Can't see any burned wires around the headers, but my tuner sources tell me a burned wire somewhere is likely the problem.
Any thoughts about where to look next?
Thanks
