IMHO, waste of money. Better off spending the money on a dyno tune by someone who knows what they are doing with either HPTuners, EFI Live or LS1Edit. You'll get much better results!

If you have serious mods then Jimbo is right on the money. On my 03' Z I purchased it with 7,600 miles on the clock and it had VaraRam CAI, LG Longtubes, Borla Off-Road X-Pipe and Stingers. It was running a little rich so I purchased a Predator and downloaded a custom tune for my mods. It was worth every penny that I paid for it and if I had it to do over I wouldn't change a thing.

I was able to lean it up a bit, advance the timing a bit, delete the 2/4 skip shift, and turn the fans on earlier to keep it running a little cooler in the sweltering Georgia Summers. I sold the car to my Dad with 20K on the clock still running the same tune from the Predator with no problems.

Re: Predator Programmer ?

I agree with the previous post. I have done my own monitoring and tuning. I installed a Vararam VR-B2 on my '04 Z06 and had the dreaded CEL that plagues many an '04 Z06 owner with a Vararam. I installed the Predator and proceeded to follow the instructions and advice of the members online as well as talking to Patrick at Vararam and the staff at Diablosport. After monitoring my LTFT's for quite some time, and making small, incremental adjustments, I have now reached the point where my LTFT's at cruise are 0 and when throttle is applied they range from 0 to -2 (on average), which is the desired result. As an additional benefit, the car now runs consistently cooler than before and no longer lights up the 'skip skift' (even though I had a CAGS skip shift installed, it would still light up on the dash).
I am a happy customer.

I purchased one for another car I had before. Does it work? In short - Yes. Would I choose one over a dyno tune? No. I wasn't dissatisfied, but I think a dyno tune is more precise.

Z06 AL-X again I would have to say it comes down to the mods. You do not want to use a Predator to tune your Z after adding a cam or modified heads but for bolt on intake and exhaust mods I would go with the Predator because that's what I have used successfully with those mods. I also still have the car in my sig. and it obviously required a dyno tune. It is sold and will be picked up next Saturday.

I agree Go for the dyno & a tuner who knows what they are doing. Suggest *** edited*** who uses EFI Live.

The Diablo Sport Predator is very straight forward and easy to use. I've been a gear head for some time now but with the Tech. support at Diablo it isn't needed to tune a Z with simple mods like a CAI and exhaust. If you can hook up with a shop that has reasonable rates and tunes for more than WOT then I would go dyno to establish the benchmark before and after the mods. Welcome to

Re: Predator Programmer ?

Don't get it! Hope its not too late. I have one for my lightning and hate it. It doesn't show me any useful info, like advertised when data logging. Does not show trouble codes like advertised, how ever can erase them?

But the worst is I NEED a dyno tune and no one in my area uses predators anymore. They have moved on to sct tuners.
