"Superchips" thing advertised here for $379

So that "Superchips" thing advertised here for $379... is it worth it on my 2003 C5 Z06? I see it does a few trick for auto trans cars but what can I expect it to do for mine?

Any experience and opinions welcomed. Worth the money?

How about a link to specific C5Z "chip" discussions?

Re: "Superchips" thing advertised here for $379

There is a section for tune talk in the C5 section called "C5 Z06 - Tuning & Electronics".

BTW, the C5 does not use a "chip" per say. If you need a tune, you have to flash the memory in the PCM using a hand held device like the Superchips or Predator or have someone flash a tune using a program on their PC such as EFILive or HP Tuners.

What can you expect for $379? Well, you can change your fan settings, delete the skip shift (CAGS), add or subtract timing up to 5% from stock. Adjust the fuel setting leaner or richer, monitor your engines operating vitals while your driving, check MIL indicators and reset. Stuff like that.

I had a Predator for my C5 and it was OK but I had to upgrade to tuning software once I got a head and cam package so I had full capability.

Re: "Superchips" thing advertised here for $379

Jub, thanks for moving the thread, my bad. I appreciate the info and look forward to hearing more from other members.

I realize it's not a "chip" like it used to be (like on my C4 for instance) which I think is a good thing. On the other hand the C4 chip made a dramatic improvement in horsepower relative to what the claims are for the programmers for my C5. I'll stay tuned... (pun intended )
