PaulS and I were planning on meeting Tuesday night for dinner with the KC caravan and wanted to invite anyone heading through KC to meet us and drive on to BG Wednesday morning. Let me know if you are interested and I'll set everything up.
The wife and I are going to leave early Tuesday morning, so we would be interested in meeting and greeting!

Ted,
Are you planning on staying the night in KC and heading down with us Wednesday? If so let me know where you are staying. There are three Jack Stack's in the KC area and we need to pick which one will be the most convenient for everyone.

If you could maybe head me in the right direction as far as some place to stay that not to far out of the way

We're staying in Raymore at some relatives and I'm thinking that PaulS is in Overland Park. I'll take a look at possible places either near to the meet and greet or by a starting point for Wednesday and PM you. I'm from Wichita, so we may have to ask PaulS to help on this.
Ted,
I435 makes a circle around Kansas City. Take I70 east to I435 South on the Kansas side. This will get you around the nightmare construction on I70/I635. Placing a clock over the circle I435 makes, you will enter I435 at the "3 o'clock" location and you will drive south and then east to the "6 o'clock" location where the following hotels can be found near I435 and Metcalf:
Sheraton Overland Park Hotel
Pricey $80+, but I absolutely love this hotel. It's new and it reminds me of New York with the way it's decorated. The 1906 restaurant is great (pricey as well - $60-$100 total depending on how hungry you are. Great prime rib on the bone).

Overland Park, KS
Hampton Inn
(913) 341-1551
10591 Metcalf Frontage Rd
Overland Park, KS
Courtyard By Marriott

Overland Park, KS
There are many more in this immediate area but I've had friends/family stay at these in the past year. They are about 5 minutes from my home. For the meet and greet you will go to Metcalf about 110th street (depending on where you hit Metcalf) and you will drive north to 95th and Metcalf. Restaurant is on the Southwest corner of 95th and Metcalf.
Wednesday morning we will head East on I435 towards Hwy 50 (scenic route to St. Louis).
Okay I finally got a room reserved, it's the Wellesley Inn, Overland Park, 7201 W. 106th St. for 9-9-03
We are planning leaving home early Tuesday morning, and arriving in the KC area probably sometime late afternoon, depending on how many stops we have to make, about 9 hrs.+or-
Cool deal Ted. The wife and I are heading out from Wichita, 3 1/2 Hrs away, Tuesday after work which would be 4:00 normally, but could be earlier depending on what's going on here. Would an 8:00 dinner be too early or too late for you? Right now it looks like you, your wife, PaulS, us, and maybe KCMags for the dinner. I will call ahead to the BBQ place and see about reservations as soon as we can decide on a time. Looks like we're also both in the JB AM session. I thought I saw two entries under your name. Is your wife going to the JB school? I'm getting pumped. This week there's an AutoX on Sunday, Labor day weekend we're going to Table Rock Lake for some R&R and the next Tuesday it's off to BG for some Vetting
