NE Caravan to the Fest

OK, its time to set the route for caravan from the Northeast to the Fest. Below is suggested route, basically the same as last year with a couple of changes on Day 1. Please provide input and any suggested pick-up points that make sense.

Please post if you will be staying in Morgantown on the night of September 8 (Day 1) so I can negotiate a room rate in MOrgantown.

Route for Day 1 (Monday, September 8):

Starting point - Skip's Restaraunt, Route 110, Chelmsford
Leave at 7 am. Anyone who is interested can meet for breakfast around 6:15 am.

Travel Route 495 South to Route 290 West

Route 290 West to Route 90 West at exit 10

Route 90 West to Route 84 South/West

Route 84 South/West through CT and NY, into PA to Route 81 South.

Route 81 South to Route 70 West in Hagerstown, MD.

Route 70 West to Route 68 West to Morgantown, WV. We will stop in Morgantown overnight, we should get there around 8:00 pm. Will check with the Morgantown Marriott Courtyard about room rates.

Route for Day 2 (Tuesday, September 9):

Route 79 South from Morgantown to Charleston, WV to meet up with WV gang. Need to check with Hurricane Chevy to see if we can meet at their location again

Route 64 West from Charleston, WV into Kentucky, to Lexington.

Bowling Green Parkway West to BG

This should put us in BG mid to late afternoon.

Current Participants:
Mdickie, Sconi, MSiska, BlkZ06, WVPhoto, Dragon, FiveOJoe, Backlash, DPayne7571, Speedracer

Be sure and let me know for sure where you're staying in Morgantown and when you're leaving for Charleston.

The Top 10 Reasons Not To Stay Morgantown, West Virginia

Contrary to what the lousy song says, Country Roads do NOT always take you home.

You dream of a life that will involve a paved road.

You grow tired of tourists stopping by, asking for directions to the state of "South Virginia", and driving off in a fit of laughter.

You're stuck with AM Radio...AM COUNTRY radio.

You've grown tired of seeing the group "Glass Tiger" at the local Acorn Festival each year.

The sheep won't take your "abuse" anymore and they are planning a revolt.

Hayrides are still limited to just 10 mph.

The local theatre's performance of "Les Miserables" left something, no A LOT, to be desired.

You've had it with those pesky revenuers destroying your stills of "shine".

No matter how hard you try, your cows don't appear receptive to chasing or catching that Frisbee.

Where's my cane, Siska, he's a dead man, Sconi, dead, now all I need is someone to point in their direction so I can inflict some real albino blind fury on them...

Excuse me waiter, I'm gonna need about a six pack of WhoopAss to open up on these two slobs...

Mike, can you contact Hurricane and set up the lunch thing again, that was great.

Mr Siska, I would expect us to be there between 4:00 and 5:00 pm (junction of 81 and 70), so gather up all the MD and VA folks ya can and line em up in the breakdown lane.

Dragon, we should be pulling into the Morgantown Corutyard around 8:00 pm I think, maybe a little earlier, probably look to leave the next morning around 9:00 so we can be in Chrleston for lunch.

Can't wait guys, this is gonna be a blast...

Mark, I mean Stevie, errr I mean Mark
