NE Caravan Route

Ok Guys, I'm starting a clean thread so this route info will be at the top. Basically, I've plagerized Mark's route from last year. I'm sure we'll have to tune this a bit but it's a start.

MONDAY
---------------
I'll leave my house south of Albany around 8:30. If anyone is coming from Boston/VT/NH, we can either meet up at exit B-1 on I-90 in NY or to I-87/I-84 interchange in Newburgh.

I'll travel down I-87, across I-84 to Scranton. Will Meet up with Ray and anyone else coming from I-81 just south of Scranton around 11:15 - 11:30 at the Petro Truck Stop, exit 178-B.

We'll head down I-81, to I-70 in Maryland and pick up Panzer, MSiska, and whoever else that is convienent for just west of the I-81/I-70 intersection around 2:30 - 3:00 pm. Last year we met you guys on the side of the highway. Is that where you want to meet again or is there a better place like a rest area??

Last year we met Backlash and FiveOJoe at a rest area somewhere after we picked up Panzer and MSiska. If that is where you want to meet again, you'll have to provide some details as to where that is at.

We will travel various cow pastures along I-70 and I-68 through Maryland and West Virginia to Exit 7 on I-68 in Morgantown where we will stay the night at the Holiday Inn Express. We should arrive between 6:00 and 6:30 pm.

TUESDAY
---------------------------

Last year, some of the WV folk met us on Tuesday morning at the hotel. That's an option if it's on the way to Charleston.

Holiday Inn Express to Joe Holland Chevrolet in S Charleston, WV for lunch

I-79 South to I-64 west, exit 56, Montrose Dr. Turn right on Montrose Dr then left on MacCorkle. Joe Holland is up ahead about half a mile

I-64 continuing west into Kentucky, to Lexington.

Bowling Green Parkway West to BG

This should put us in BG mid to late afternoon.

Ok, there's a start. Please chime in as to if/where you plan to meet up with us. I'm not very familiar with the area down there so please let me know if there are any better paths to take through Maryland and WV. I'd also like to get a head count for the hotel in Morgantown so I can contact them to try to get a group rate.

-Jeremy

Hi Jeremy,

Haven't found out whether or not I'll be able to go this year but if I do I can either meet you in Morgantown off of I-68 where you stayed last year or meet you in Hurricane with the other WV gang.

Everything hinges on the Spring Fling Cobra Fest in Columbus and when and where my wife wants to go on vacation.

Hope I can go.

Steve

I'm still trying to make this happen. If I do, I'd be happy to join the group. So I'll try to keep an eye on this thread and firm up my plans in the meantime.

Hi, I would like to join the group in Harrisburg. I can wait along an exit south of town for the caravan to roll down I-81 through the lovely Cumberland Valley. I will be staying at the hotel, count me in.

Jeremy:

Your travel plan for the NE Caravan looks good to me. I suggest that we meet about 8 miles south of Scranton, at the Petro Truck Stop, exit 178-B off I-81 south. It is a good place for gas, lunch, or just to meet up and it is easy on & off of the Interstate. To get to the Petro, turn left at the end of the exit ramp, go approximately 1/8 mile and turn left into the Petro entrance.

Count my wife and I in for the overnight stay in Morgantown.

We are really looking forward to meeting every one and going to the Fest.

RayB.

Thanks Leslie. Once it is decided where we'll be stopping for lunch, I'll update the route.

Proexpert, will that Truck Stop be a good place to meet up with you or are you further south?

No I'm 2 hours (well maybe less) south of there. There is a rest stop south of Carlisle, you can swing through there and pick me up.

Jeremy,

Actually we met you where the PA turnpike intersected 81 just outside of Carlisle.

However, this year Joe is going to be trailering his new baby and leaving later in the week. It is also looking like I may need to be at work on Monday and will end up doing early morning run down from Philly to a Chevy dealership to be named by Leslie and Mike. I'm going to try to free up Monday, but will not know until much closer till leaving.

In the meantime, going to get the LG headers on, '04 shocks and get a tune to be able to keep up with the rest of the crew.
