South East Caravan - Begins in Miami, FL and goes North

I am starting from Miami, FL and going North. I know there are a few peeps down here that are driving north. I thought Fubu was meeting others at the Pompano Turnpike Plaza. I know MDickie (Mark) was driving north from Tampa and maybe going to meet the caravan at I-75 in Wildwood or somewhere.

I want to leave Tuesday so I can take my time getting up to BG. I know Z ya Later (Paul)& MadMonkey wanted to do the same.

My trip last year went as follows:

1) Florida Turnpike Miami Golden Glades (the beginning of the Turnpike) to Wildwood, FL (the end of the Turnpike)

2) I-75 through Georgia to Chattanooga, TN

3) I-24 to Nashville, TN

4) I-65 to Bowling Green, KY

Also, I have a Nextel and a few other ways to communicate between cars if that makes it more fun or easier.

You going my way?? Anybody up for making a caravan work from down here??

I was looking at getting into BG on Tuesday, is it a one day trip from FLA or are you planning on getting in on Wednesday.

I am planning on having the car detailed on Wednesday morning up in BG...

Hi Guys,

Me and the Mad Monkey are planning on leaving aroung 5 or 6 pm Tue night. We can't leave until we get out of work.

Usually if we leave around that time we will drive to just north of altanta and find a fleabag motel around 3 in the morning.

Crash for a couple of hours and leave around 7 am to finish the 3 or 4 hours to BG and arrive around 10 or 11.

Let me know how that works with your plans Birddog.

No tickets this time!!!!!

i need to be there by Tuesday night, as does FUBU (I think), so I will either leave monday and stay the night somewhere, or drive all day tuesday to get there Tuesday night.

Mark you will already be there when we leave I guess. I took tuesday off from work and so did Z06 Passenger so we could get a jump start on the drive. We want to be there on Wed and not so tired like we got there the last time. We slept almost all of the first day until dinner at Rafferty's.
Z-Ya Later and Mad Monkey... can you guys take tuesday off so we can leave a lil bit earlier?? That way we can sleep a couple more hours in the flea bag motel. Last year I drove straight through to Chatanooga, Tn if Im not mistaken and slept a bit there. It was still a long ride to BG after that. Well... I took a detour around Atlanta that put me about an extra hours drive out of the way (lets not remind Z06 Passenger about that now okay?? - clearing throat). Hey, shes the best darn navigator you could have. When everyone went out to that corn farm in Ky for the FEST BBQ, she's the one who got us all back. Some water truck got in the way and Black Majic lost the crowd and took a wrong turn. Yeah.. I navigate like he does. heh

Hey, you guys let me know about leaving earlier on tuesday.

Hey, i am also from Miami, i have a very flexible schedule. So lets decide on what most of the people want to do. I think 4 or 5 Z06 driving together would be pretty bad ass.

Also, we should check if any of the other states on the way want to join in as we pass along so we pick up some more z06s

Sounds good to me! I am pretty open to whenever we leave. Z YaLater & Madmonkey have to wait until they get off work. I guess that would be fine for a departure time. They live in Broward so if you are in Miami we can drive up and meet them along the way.

Hi Guys,

Sorry i haven't had a chance to reply, I've been busy as hell at work!!!

jcamere94z28, Great to have you with us!!!

I think Madmonkey gets off work at 5:30. I can pick him up at home at 6:00 and we can meet you guys at the Pompano Turnpike Plaza at 6:30.

Madmonkey's gonna see if he can get off earlier that day but it doesn't look good.

We should get those FRS radio's so we can chat along the way, I think Bird-Dog already has them.

B-D, What kind of radio's do you have and where can we get them!!!!

Hopefully they include police band!!!!

So far we got 3 Z's going North, were are the rest of you florida Z's????

PJ

Sorry about the late reply bro. I've been working my tail off day and night, weekends included. I have a handheld that will probably talk on the private band radios, but I think we should just decide what to get and all get them. That would make the trip go so much faster being able to chat. Also easier when somene needs gas or a pee break to tell the group. We could get those things at K-Mart even I think. I hear the Motorola Talkabout radios are pretty good (around 1-2 miles radius depending on area). I saw them in pairs on ebay for around $35. I will give you a call and PM my cell # for you so we can make the plans.
