We made it to BG Z06FEST

The NE Caravan made it to Bowling Green intact.

Well the NE caravan linked up on Monday and nine arrived in Morgantown. After a loud gathering at the Outback across the street we went back to the motel and the manager would not let us drink in the lobby so he gave us a meeting room. Of course the crowd was split on whether we should watch football or WWE wrestling so we flipped back and forth.
We linked up with Leslie her very good 'friend' Ken King and WVPHOTO at Hurricane Chevrolet. Ken King's MY Z06 was having sticking throttle problems which held up us a little . But the nice folks at Hurricane Chevrolet fixed it for free. They even had TV Channel 13 onhand to take pictures and interview WVPHOTO about why we were there. Thirteen cars left Charleston for Bowling Green. Speeds and average speeds for this group were of the annilating space and time category and often times went into the three digit category of speeds.

Everybody went down the street from the Hampton Motel to the Montana Grille for food.
Highlights so far for me:

meeting the people in person that I have been reading and exchanging messages this past year

Seeing GNX guy's TR 7.0L monster

Warping space and time on the public roads with fellow z06ers

Meeting Mr and Mrs ZDOG and talking about the upcoming race with MIKESZ06

Ed, if all goes well tomorrow, I hope to leave KC between 7 & 9 pm for BG. Should put me in sometime in the am on Thursday.

The guys at MC have been unbelievable. There are so many issues to address with this setup that I didn't realize in advance.
We worked on Monday night til about 4 am and tonight we knocked of early, about 1:30am
Still some tuning issues to address and some fan shroud fabrication to be done.
Before we left tonight we were dynoing at about 605 rwhp and 650 rwtq at about 4700 rpm. Hopefully tomorrow we will get the fuel tables and VE's in line to allow a full WOT dyno.
I expect the rwhp will go up considerably, maybe another 100 or so but the torque numbers will probably level out.
Hope to see you guys on Thursday!

We were all standing in the parking lot talking about you. Even if you were not bringing the newe monster we are glad you are coming.
I told the guys in the convoy on the radio what we really needed was you leading the pack in your Neon.....

We will have to rally the forces and have some adult beverages and a welcoming party in the hotel parking lot tonight.

It's now 12:15am local time here in BG, and I should get to sleep because I have a 5:30 am wake up call coming, BUT jut wanted to let everyone know my highlight of the day.

The Lost River Cave tour? NO, but that was absoutely fascinating to see!

The delicious home-cooked meal at Federal Grove bed & breakfast? No, but that sure was memorable!

Two salads I had at Rafferty's? No, but that's another story!

Highlight: Riding as passenger in GNX Guy 7.0 Liter Rocket!
Let me tell you.....This was the quickest, most thrilling ride I've had in a long, long, time. 145 on I-65? Yup, in 4th gear!

GNX Guy: WOW! A big THANK YOU for the ride!

Zippy

Mike,

Wish I could be there with you bro, the "Z" is getting a few mods done and won't be finished in time for the Fest. Nothing radical, trying to get RWHP to 420 or so, thus leaving most everything else alone.

Enjoy yourselves and drive safe!

Les
