1100 Hp C5!

Found an ad in Dupont Registry for a high performance Vette shop I never heard of. "Modern Day Muscle Cars."

They claim to have built a procharged stock block C5 that runs mid nine's at 142MPH!!! 1,100 HP!

Has anyone had experience with them? Just curious.

Incredible

Wish I had $75,000 laying around. I'll hurry and check in between the sofa cushions.....I checked out the video links and man 'o man is that one fast Corvette. If you watch closely, the Vette on right side gets the GREEN light about 1 or 2 seconds sooner than the Z1100 equipped Corvette. And the Z1100 Vette still pulls a 9.8 in the 1/4 mile. Talk about Warp Speed! I think I'll go start my paper route again and hope that in the next 40 years, I will make enough tips to get that package. Santa, I know what I want for Christmas next year....and don't get cheap on me.....

Yup, it's Optic's shop.

I'm not going to steal anyone's thunder here but my Cartek twin turbo Z06 put down 1016 rwhp out of a 346 cid motor and I think we left some ponies on the table (makes no sense going further because traction is nonexistent). This is a twin turbo 427. A lot more cubes. My car ran a best e.t. of 9.87 and best trap of 147 mph on 14 lbs of boost.

The trick is not to turn out an 1100 hp car but to build a drivetrain that can withstand all that hp and tq. From my experience, it's very difficult. An 1100 hp "street" car is one thing. An 1100 hp race car is a different story.

And Cartek is a sponsoring vendor here.

P.S. I just looked at the dyno sheet. That car put down 938 rwhp. The Z1100 package implies 1100 hp at the flywheel, I think.

World of difference between a C5 and an F body. My car is capable of mid-8s with no sweat. The drivetrain won't allow me to get there. My car also has full interior, radio, a/c, etc., and is a 6-speed. I have not taken an ounce out of the car. I've added a lot of weight. Check out my gallery or go to my web site that's in my sig.

Looks like bradenton dragstrip www.bradentonmotorsports.com
and I do not believe it is actually down hill. I've raced that strip for many years and never noticed it being downhill.

where is your drive train failing? the camaro cut a 1.48 60ft. A 6 speed vette is capable of cutting that kind of short time. The camaro is probbaly around 600 to 700 pound fatter. and put up a higher mile per hour. i am confused.
