Just for kicks I did an almost back to back dyno comarison between a bone stock 03 Z06 with my custom supercharger system and an 03 Z06 witha Magnuson. The only difference is that the Magnacharged car has headesr and the one with my system is absolutely bone stock except for the blower. I wish I had a Magnuson car without headers just to make it "apples to apples"
The chart is interesting. It almost looks like an "X". The Magnuson definately has more bottom end and my system definately has more top end. Mine has more peak torque, but it's higher up. The torque numbers were 417 for the mag and 455 for mine. The HP was 452 vs 508. Actually mine was making 532 but I fattened it up at the to end to be safe and brought it down to 508.
I only have HP on the graph because it looks way too confusing with 4 lines intersecting.
I just thought you might be interested in how they compare. The Mag is a great street system that feels like a big block. Mine is more high strung. It really screams in the upper range. It all depends on what you want. Both systems are great at what they do.
Andy-
Thanks for the results of your test. Check you e-mail when you have a chance. It is about purchasing a kit from you. Thanks!

Did you use the Mag tune or? Is it true that with headers on the Mag there isn't sufficient back pressure for the blower? Did Magnuson pre-program the computer for headers? I/C? Would like to see their tune (Mag) before your tune. Wonder how much Magnuson leaves on the "table".
The graph is no suprise.
Still good to see them side by side.
Be interested to see the torque curve on both also.
I'd wager they're similar in pattern.
Mags are known for they're flat, even boost through the rev range.
Centrifugal SC's are known for concentrating they're power on the top end.

Thanks for posting these results. I guess most people would say that 450 rwhp is low for the Mag, I hope when I dyno mine it will be higher. But that Magnacharger definitely provide a lot of kick all the way through the rev range, not just at the top. On the street, even at 1/2 throttle, you feel it, you always know it's there. I really gotta get to a dyno.
If I am at 450 with the superchips tune, I bet there is at least another 5% to be found with a better intake and a proper LS1 edit / dyno tune. that would put me at 470-480 which is where I think the car should be.
I'll throw up the torque graph when I get a chance. The tune really isn't that bad. It's 12:1 across the board. I think some timing would help, but the AFR is good. A smaller pulley would definately help. I have driven the car a couple of times and at light throttle and low RPM it's VERY impressive. It seems a lot quicker than a HC car with close to the same HP. If you start to drive aggressively, you'll find yourself above 4000 RPM most of the time and my system just walks all over it. It just depends on what you want.
I have the Mag on my Siverado SS and think it's the best choice. On an automatic car, I'd still say the Mag is a better choice. On a Z06, a car that likes to rev,I really like my system. 500 plus RWHP on a bone stock car is pretty impressive.
I did an 01 Z06 a couple of weeks ago with only a 224 - 228 cam and a set of headers with my P1SC system and it made 593 RWHP. That's pretty impressive for a P1SC , 6 rib belt and no head work.
hey andy, how far into the future are you going to be producing these kickin c5 ati kits? im not gonna be in the market for one for maybe a few years...
