New Borla Exhaust ***Stinger***

Hi everyone, I'm new over here. Just wanted to let everyone know that Nate@Extreme has been working on having Borla build a 4-tip Stinger exhaust. The present Stinger exhaust has an Awesome sound but theres a few of us out there that want a 4-tip look instead of a 2-tip look. Sooooooo over at Corvetteforum.com we have a est. total of around 25-30 requests but Borla would like to see 50 min. If your looking for such an exhaust PLEASE send Nate a email. THe sooner we get 50 the sooner they get built. If you want to here what they sound like do a search on Stingers over there. They have a low V-8 rumble at idle, but at WOT the women will be grabbing the children and running, thats was one of the quotes over there. Hope we can get the 50 needed.

Paul

If they are doing 4 tips are they still going to be 4" like the dual 4" they are doing now. I have the dual and because the tips are that large and the C5 has such a wide rear the big 4" looks great. I would be concerned that 4 4" tips would be too big across the back. One guy in our corvette club here told me he was waiting to buy the system when they came out with the 4 tips instead of the two. However, when he saw mine he loved it. He also made the comment that if the tips are the same that the 4 would be too much and take up most all the space thats there now. He completely changed his mind and is considering the dual now instead. BTW the comments about this system are true. I have witnessed women grabbing their children when I pull up to a crowd. The stinger sounds awesome. You can't beat the system for the money. BTW I also noticed a seat of the pants horsepower difference which is always a plus. Just my .02

Theres a PIC of the exhaust with the 4-tips and with 4" tips at the beginning of the thread and they don't look to crowded at all. The only thing I did see was you won't be needing the fancy plate in the back anymore because with the tips back there thats all your going to see.

I purchased the stinger through Nate at Extreme motrosports. I also bought the Hurst shifter from Extreme motorsports. I have installed the shifter but haven't had time to put on the exhaust. I have downloaded sound files on the stinger and it gave me an instant woody. Can't wait until I have the time to install it and get back on the road. Anyway, the main point I want to make is Nate and Extreme Motorsports have been great on both of my purchases. Delivery times have been better than I expected and he has great pricing.

That has been going on for awhile now..unfortunately,last i heard Borla has no plans of doing a four tip system version of that system, because they already have other 4 tips systems & they do not want to take away any sales from those systems by making more systems that are much less expensive..Atleast that is what a Borla rep told me last week when i called over there!..Look at it this way,if Borla does not do it,there will be a company soon who will have a "knock off version of it with 4 tips"..it always happens sooner or later!

don't wait

2 tips vs. 4 tips is academic...get on board now. I will always have my stock 4 tips stored away. Other than extreme Z06 advocates, who will know the difference? Give me 9rwhp and lethal sound...I will take it NOW

Nate got the go ahead from Borla to produce a special build of the 4-tip Stinger exhaust if he can get 50 orders. If Borla will not produce the 4-tip version, then just think, you will have a one of kind SPECIAL exhaust that no one else has and there will be less than 100 of them out there.

Hello,
I just installed my Stinger and to be honest, I was disappointed.
I thought it would be a little louder and sound a little better. The tone is to low.

I know what you mean. I was hoping they would be louder. That's me though. I'm sure I fall into the very small percentage of guys who want their exhaust EXTREMELY loud. I will say the Stinger is alot louder than the stock system. I took my friend for a ride after the install and he couldn't believe the difference. Still, I'd prefer them louder.....

Les,

I kind of like the sound under deacceleration(some popping under deacceleration but I like it) What really impresses my is the(for lack of a better term) is the high pitched moan/wail under acceleration above 3 grand,,,ya gotta hear it to believe it....
I told ya I'd get mine on before you

The Stinger will be installed on Marianne's Z06 on Friday, along with the Kirban. Saturday, we will scare small kids and animals from DFW to Fredericksburg and Gruene and back on Sunday as we do our annual Bluebonnet Cruise.

Pics to follow, banner in the car already!!!
