700-800 rwhp goal

Tomorow i will (hopefully) be purchasing my first corvette. its an 02 z06. First mods will be gear, LGM longtubes, LG g5x3 cam and electric cutouts. hopefully have the funds to go forced induction soon after summer is over but i do want to start getting some information now.

I want to put down at least 600 to the wheels but hoping for around 700-800.

1.)what turbo kit do you guys recomend? some people have told me the turbo technology inc. kit was very good.

2.) i know i will need a clutch, what are some other supporting mods that are an essential?

3.) what internals are the most cost efficient while still being of good quality? i have heard that you really need to go with forged internals for anything over 550 in these cars.

my budget will be somewhere around 15k but i know that might not be very realistic but i am still paying for school and it is honestly stretching my budget alot. any input on this would be much appreciated. Is there anything else i should know before going into this?

i live around charlotte nc and i was also wondering if there was a shop within a couple hours drive that any of you would recomend.

thanks,
rocky

Re: 700-800 rwhp goal

good luck on those numbers. what are you driving right now (pre-z) depending on the performance you are used to you man want to hold off and get a feel for the car, the summer might be long enough to do that but you might also find that 700-800 might be more beastly than you want to push the car. its all up to you, personally when i get mine it'll remain stock untill i can drive it to its limits without being timid. another thing you could look into is maybe some gearing. i'd give you advice on the hp but i'm not the one to chime in about that stuff as i haven't done it... yet

Re: 700-800 rwhp goal

right now i am driving an e36 m3 that should be gone today. I am putting down just under 600 to the wheels and it just doesnt give me enough of a thrill anymore. I wanted to up the boost from 20 psi but i am scared of doing some damage so i just decided to build something a little more exciting.

i really hope this deal goes down today or the z will not happen. Another buyer came after me offering more money.

Re: 700-800 rwhp goal

Why would you waste your money on a NA cam and long tube headers if you have plans for a turbo kit down the road? The TTi Stage X kit comes with its own manifolds so your long tube headers will be useless.

The TTi kit is outstanding. You'll need quite a few supporting mods to make 700-800 hp properly. Upgraded fuel system, driveline, etc..

Lack of life experience I would assume.

If you are going turbo do not waste your money on anthing that you need to take off for the FI system. Think your overall goal first and buy mod's that go towards that and not mod's you would have to take off to complete the FI system. Good luck on your build.
