APS TT - what's realistic?

I bought in to one of the early APS TT kits, but have been swamped with life and have not even opened up all the boxes. I'm just now getting back to the forums and my garage after being off for a few months and I see that most of the APS TT results are not what I expected.

It seems like the Vette Doctors 703/777 rw numbers are the best so far.

Is is realistic for me to expect over 700hp and tq at the tires on a forged 346 with ECS fuel system, meth and decent heads/cam? What about the exhaust? I was hoping to run my stock mufflers, but it seems like that may be a bottleneck on the APS setup?

I sold my Vortech SQ and bought this kit, but with all the limited results I'm reading on here and CF.com, I'm second guessing my decision.

My car is a street car, but I do take it to the track - standing mile and 1/4 mile. I want something that is reliable, streetable and has excellent driveability. I had that with my Vortech (550rwhp @ 6psi, high 10s@128 on stock mufflers), but wanted more, especially low end and I thought that TTs were my best bet to get there.

Just looking for opinions and some more positive APS results.

Speaking of getting back in the garage, Moose helped me yank my drivetrain yesterday looking to pull the motor today or tomorrow and get it to my builder ASAP so I can get some racing done in the fall.

Hey Wayne,
Glad to "see" you around again. Looks like you've been busy!! Geez, sold the Vortech??!!!
Wish I had news to help with your situation, but don't know too much on that kit. Good luck with it though!

Re: APS TT - what's realistic?

Hey Mike, yeah I've been busy with stuff around the house and life in general. We remodeled most of the first floor of our house in the past few months, so the car was way on the back burner. Now I'm itching to get behind the wheel (and down the track) again, so I've put house stuff on hold until I finish the car.

It's good to see the same old faces posting here. Hopefully I can continue to contribute to the board.

You can make 700 rwhp with the APS C5 kit, the question is how hard you have to lean on it to make those numbers.

Folks have run 9's @ over 140 MPH with the TTi Stage X kit through a stock Z06 exhaust, so I wouldn't think exhaust by itself would be a major issue. Obviously a Borla setup will be more efficient, but that doesn't mean you can't do fine with a stocker.

Re: APS TT - what's realistic?

my sts turbos......with an ecs forged 346, stock heads, and the ecs fuel system made 710/640 with meth and a VERY conservative tune, I kinda have a reputation for destruction so I get a more conservative tune than most....I also track the hell out of my car (as in the forged 346 went in, turned up the boost, drove the car home put it in the trailer and then ran 4 consecutive track days with it.)

I don't think you'll have much of a problem hitting 700 with meth. Any interest in a 6K mile fuel system and forged 346 all from ecs? I'm goin 427 C5R for road racing (too many high temp issues and inconsistent performance with the rear mounts for my liking) with direct port so most of my stuff will be on the market within the next month. Haven't thought of a number of course, waiting to see what ecs would charge for the stuff outright. Bet you could recover a healthy chunk of it just selling off your current LS6 and swapping.
