ATI Kit and track days ??

I am taking the car in on the 7th to get the ATI kit instaled. I keep hearing people talk about "heat soak" problems on track days. Mostley I use the car for Auto-X. But I do take it to a track day on occasion. What should I expect? How much of an issue is it?

Gimpy, don't worry about 'heat soak' with your Procharger. Your intercoolers will keep you from overheating.
Normally, heat soak is more of an issue with non-interooled roots blowers. I know a few people had that problem early on after they installed the Maggie but after the intercooler came out (several months later), those that later installed the intercooler had few (if any) heat soak issues.

Id be a little concerned about the IATs if youre wailing on it on a hot day. Lap after lap in boost is going to get things pretty heated. Definitely run a tank of good gas as insurance, or better yet, plumb an alcohol kit to keep the IATs in check. The ATI kit has the sidemount intercoolers so youve lost the brake ducting, but you have the benefit of mostly unrestricted airflow through the front of the car without an FMIC blocking everything, so oil and water temps should stay reasonable (pull the plug after 270 on oil and 240-250 on water, is the rule of thumb I use).

I am in the same boat. I will be changing my fans back to the stock set up instead of the 1 fan. Can't wait to get to Road Atlanta and try it out. Hope it is as much fun as my Ta is there.

I have run 4 different weekend DE's with a Procharger (that's four 25 minute runs per day for 3 days in a row per DE event) and I never had any IAT issues. Two of the events were mid summer with pretty hot outside air temps.

I figure its just cheap insurance in the long run.

No, it was partially forged and had H/C as well.

I don't disagree at all with your recommendations, just wanted to make sure he knew that the blower would not automatically make his temps run high at the track.

Thanks for all the info guys. I really apreciate the help. I am just afraid of popping the motor. I can afford to build it, I just can't afford to rebuild it.
