Hey guys I figure I would throw this out there for all the guys who are running 8 ribs and looking for big boost. First and foremost-you need to upgrade your BOV-or By-Pass valve. The plastic Bosch or the Vortech Mini race will not cut it! If you are spinning the blower near max rpm you need to stepup up to something that can get rid of the air fast when you let off the throttle. I like the Vortech Mondo or the Procharger "Big Red" Bov.
Second is placement-from what I found after mounting the valve near the blower, throttle body, intercooler-is that mounting the valve right after the blower is the best place. Problem is where limited to space so next best place I found is right before the intercooler. It can sit hidden and away from the elements and you can point it outwards towards the front so when dynoing or idling you know it's working as you can feel the extra air being vented off. It points straight out the brake duct.
I found if you put it before the TB it looks cool but if your running meth you get some meth "dusting" happening as when the throttle shuts the excess meth needs to go somewhere and it comes out the BOV-I don't know about you guys but I don't like the idea of meth spraying around my hot engine compartment.
The next problem which is the worst is having the belts come off. Having the BOV so close to the TB means you have a tunnel of air between the blower and the intercooler and this causes enough reversion that the impellar does weird things and tosses the belt off.
so from what I have found in testing is before the intercooler is the best position-I know you can't see it and you lose the "cool" factor but I would rather not replace belts-unless your cars all show and no go.
This applies to all the ECS Novi and A&A kits-you need to do this if your running a T trim or YSi or a 3" puley on the Novi.
This is just my humble opinion from what I have found-I figured I would share this with you guys!
