charger on top of h/c

i have stage 3 h/c on my stock block is it possible i can put a magnacharger or is it a bad idea

well i dont really know how that would work but i do know you would need to build up your blocks internals. your also gonna have to lower your compression to run the s/c on top. hopefully others can tell you more

not a good idea b/c the Mag cant flow enough air to supply those heads for what they need. You will gain Hp though, but it will be minimal. I have a friend with Cartek stage 3 (maybe 2) heads and a Mag and only put down something like 501 or 502rwhp. Just not worth the $6k+ for 15-20hp. And visa-versa.....if you have a Mag and want heads, the LS6 heads are the biggest heads that the Mag can flow.

vettewreck is right on here. Any honest tuner will tell you the SAME thing. Plus, chances are good that the cam will definitely be wrong for a blower. Doesn't mean you couldn't swap it out, though.

Now if you went with a centrifugal (Vortech/ATI) type, then those compressors can flow plenty of air and you'd be ok (given the obligatory cam swap, of course) and make nasty power...probably more than the block could handle as sil350 made reference to.

Instead of going through the expence of head work to bring my CR down and still have the flow of the LS6 head, I bought #317 6 liter heads and just put springs in them. It will bring your CR down in the low 9s and you can then get the most out of your S/C without piston damage.
You can find them on E-Bay all day long from 3-500.00.
