Not a Z06...and it's an automatic (from Rodney), but it's a friends car with an ECS forged 346 with stock LS6 heads, blower cam and ECS methanol kit. The car was run last night at Capitol (not the best track here in the northeast) and it was only at 85% throttle. Still, 9.633@145! I can't imagine what this will do in the fall air with 100% throttle. Makes me rethink FI applications.
LOL...you know I'm like you...kind of "old school" and love that cam lope. But I have to admit, the reliability of these FI applications is equal or exceeds that of an N/A application. It's also pretty easy to have a VERY streetable mid-10 second car (even with a 6 speed) going with either a Procharger, Novi or one of several TT applications available for our cars. And, there is effectively no price point difference with the FI vs N/A, since with FI you get to keep your stock gears (saves you anywhere between $1500-$2000 if you are not a DYI'er)...not an option if you go N/A and want that 10 second capability.
Since I've acquired a C6 Z06, I have come to love the torque. In fact, I find myself short shifting in order to stay in the "beefy" part of the torque curve. For this reason, I would love to have a small super charger bolted on in order to have more torque.
I've always been fascinated by the amount of torque the FI engines make right from the git-go showing huge gains in a flat curve. Oh No...the gears are turning.
Reese Cox is having good success with the Eaton TVS (Roots Type)running 7.5 lbs of boost with a mild cam making over 800 HP at the wheels. Very streetable and trackable!

Yes...I've heard about their work....must resist the urge....must resist the urge.
After being supercharged, then going bigger cube (346 to 402), I can tell you that there is a replacement for displacement. It's FI. Better fuel economy, bigger power, and better driveability.

It appears that you were accurate, Don. Looks like they're now a car dealership operating under the name MTI Motorsports.
That's perfect for them... right?
There is no way that they could be dishonest as a car dealership is there? I mean, after all, who has ever heard of a less than honest car salesman?
Mike
Car dealership? Wow...I wonder if they serve up a full tank of gas laced with sugar to any new car customer? It would be a good way for them to kick start their tuning business again.
